The Best Airbnbs I Have Stayed

After the past two years, we all deserve a small break from our daily routines. But, with the world slowly but surely getting accustomed to the new normal, it is time to travel again.

Opting to use Airbnb as your way to travel is an excellent way to discover new and unique places to see without breaking your budget.  Another way to travel without spending much is to go on a camping trip. But if this is not your thing, you should read my list of best Airbnbs.

With that in mind, here is the list of the best Airbnb’s I have stayed at – maybe one of them will grab your attention and urge you to see the same place, so keep on reading.

A garden room in Berlin

At the top of the list of best Airbnbs from my experience, we have a unique experience located in Mitte, Berlin.

While you will be situated in the very heart of this metropolis, it won’t feel like it. Instead, you will be staying in a separate room in a garden with a beautiful view. A bit further, you will see the remains of the famous Berlin Wall and The Wall Memorial Park devoted to the divided Berlin. In fact, the home where you will be staying is a part of a small community of homes built on the former death strip of the Berlin Wall.

As for amenities, this place offers self/checkout, so you will be able to roam the streets of Berlin and explore them how and when you want. The location is also pet-friendly, with a private paved patio and a fully fenced private backyard.

A studio in Paris

Our following recommendation is something completely different – a romantic, old-timey looking studio in Louvre, Paris.

If you want to explore all of the main attractions of the City of Light, you can’t go wrong with this neat apartment located in the center of the 1st Arrondissement. The Louvre and Place de la Concorde are only a short walk away. From your window, you will be able to see the Champs-Élysées. If you want to see even more of Paris, the Metro station is right across the street from the studio.

The entire flat is for rent so you will have the place for yourself. Other commodities include a separate kitchen and dedicated workspace. Unfortunately, there are no security cameras on the property, but there is building staff guarding the entrance all day long.

A stone cottage on a beach in Ireland

Located in Roundstone, Galway, this stone cottage is situated on the quiet sandy beach of Connemara.

Although it might look ancient from the outside, the Foland cottage is a relatively new building. Built in 2010 from the remains of two old cottages that were falling apart, this place offers all the amenities of modern living.

You can travel light because this cottage has everything you need. At your disposal, there are three bedrooms and a large kitchen with underfloor heating. Or you can step outside on the balcony and enjoy the view of the sea.

At the time of writing this article, you will need proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery, or negative test required before departing to Ireland. Nevertheless, check the availability of this location since it is highly popular even though you can stay there for one week throughout the year only, from one Saturday to the next.

A private party house in Spain

If you have a large family or a huge group of friends eager to explore Valencia, book this spacious house in Xabia, Spain.

Casa Pillar has everything you need, whether you want to party with your friends or just relax with your family. There is a private swimming pool and jacuzzi, a large covered patio, and a huge lawn on the outside.

You will find two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate kitchen, and ample living space on the inside.

The house is near Xàbia, a charming city with enough museums and other tourist attractions to satisfy your needs. However, if you feel more adventurous, both Valencia and Benidorm are just a short drive away, so you can use this place as your base for discovering the Costa Bianca region.

Keep in mind that there are still some traveling restrictions in place when it comes to visiting Spain. Only those with proof of vaccination are currently allowed to enter Spain.

A yurt in Canada

If you are in the mood for something unique and authentic – and, of course, if you are fully vaccinated – you might want to check out this handcrafted Mongolian yurt in Whitehorse, Canada.

Although it takes up to three guests, this special place can be a perfect romantic getaway for couples. Besides the single bedroom, you will have a yoga room, a lying room, and a library at your disposal. Unfortunately, there are not many modern amenities here as the place brags about offering a bathroom with a half/bath. This place doesn’t even have WiFi, but that is not what this experience is about.

You should visit this place if you want to take in the beauty of Cowley Lake and have an authentic Yukon experience. Step out into the balcony and take in the stunning views. You might even get lucky and see the Northern Lights.

A vintage apartment in Turkey

If you are looking for a place that offers a unique mix of modernity and ancient culture, look no further than Istanbul, Turkey. For instance, you could stay in a room in this vintage apartment that is located near the busy central street of Taksim while simultaneously offering a great view of the old city.

Taxim Square is the business and fun center of the city where you will find plenty of shops and cafes. Many historical sights such as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace are just a short walk away from this place.

If you want to explore the city or even cross over into Asia, both subway and ferryboat stations are less than ten minutes away by foot.

As for the room itself, it is located on top of an ancient Greek building, offering you a breathtaking look at the Old City. You will have a separate kitchen but you will have to share a bathroom with other tourists visiting the flat. But, it will be worth it.
